Bradford looking good again in Sooner Scrimage

April 6, 2008

The weather was beautiful in Norman Saturday as the Oklahoma Sooners held another scrimmage at Owen Field.

The scrimmage was highlighted by Sam Bradford completing 13 of 20 passes for 158 yards, including one touchdown and no interceptions.  Bradford looks very comfortable under center this spring, which should not surprise anyone after looking comfortable all year season as a freshman starter for the Sooners.

Backup quarterback Joey Halzle looked great hitting on 14 or his 22 passes for 177 yards  and no interceptions.

The Oklahoma defense played well overall.

Asked about the defense Stoops said: "There doing really well, last scrimmage, I thought last week they were excellent."

Asked about the Sooner quarterbacks Stoops said:  "He is the last buy I am looking at.  I am watching the defense more, that is what I am used to."

Sooners Sign Capel for Six years!

March 29, 2008

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma basketball coach Jeff Capel agreed to terms of a contract extension Thursday amid speculation that he would leave the Sooners to take a job closer to home at South Carolina.

This is good news for the Sooners.  Jeff Capel did a great job this season considering the Sooners lost recruits and some injuries at the end of the season.  And importantly, he is not a jerk!  (I am not referring to anyone)

Oklahoma football signee Josh Jarboe told an Atlanta television station Thursday that he's still planning on coming to OU despite being charged with two felony gun counts late last week.

“I still have my scholarship, I'm still going to Oklahoma,” Jarboe told JaQuitta Williams of WSB-TV. “If I don't go to Oklahoma, I'm going somewhere. This isn't fixing to just stop me.”
